Job Description

We are proud to be working with a well appointed Water Treatment Company who have a global reach. A position has become available for a Water Treatment Plant Operator to join the team.

Full time, permanent position. 40hrs per week + Overtime paid at 1.5x. £22,509 to £28,262 DOE. Immediate start! 

The shifts will be 8 hours per day and will vary from early shift (6am – 2pm) and back shift (2pm – 10pm), Monday to Friday. 

Every third week you will be required to be on standby and work 5 hours Saturday and Sunday (6am – 11pm)

The main purpose of this role will be to monitor and control the Plant and implement any necessary operational changes.

As part of a dedicated team, the Water Treatment Plant Operators will work on a day shift basis and be responsible for operating and monitoring the electrical, mechanical, instrument and process equipment at a brand new Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) located within the site of an internationally recognised customer. 

The Water Treatment Plant Operator is expected to be able to carry out first line preventative maintenance activities on the equipment with the support of a Computerised Maintenance Management System.

This can include tasks such as cleaning of process instruments on a regular basis, changing over duty pumps and equipment as necessary and ensuring the process assets are in as good condition as possible.

All necessary training will be provided. Most work will be day shift Monday – Friday but it is expected that the operator will work outside these hours if required.

As part of this role, the applicant will also provide on call plant cover, responding to any alarms via a tablet and attending site, if necessary, out of hours.

Requirements 

You will ideally have an NVQ Level 2 or experience of working as a Technician/Fitter/Electrician/Mechanic, with the ability and knowledge to complete basic repairs and maintenance. 

You will have experience working directly with sub-contractors and will be able to demonstrate through previous work experience, an ability to interpret technical information to affect changes on the plant. 

You will have operational and maintenance knowledge of waste water treatment plants and will demonstrate the ability to work within a quality system.

A working knowledge of running electro-mechanical plant would also be highly advantageous.
